- Cash & Carry stores (47.4%): owns, at the end of 2012, 743 centers (Metro name) located in Germany (107), Europe (519), Asia and Africa (117);
- specialized stores (31.4%; no. 1 in Europe): distribution of electronic products to the general public through 942 stores (Saturn and MediaMarkt names; of which 404 in Germany);
- hypermarkets (16.5%): owns 421 outlets (Real name; of which 312 in Germany);
- department stores (4.6%): owns 137 department stores (Kaufhof and Galeria names; of which 122 in Germany);
- other (0.1%).
Net sales break down geographically as follows: Germany (38.4%), Europe (56.3%), Asia and Africa (5.3%).
