- Cash & Carry stores (46.7%): owns, at the end of 2011, 728 centers (Metro name) located in Germany (107), Europe (528), Asia and Africa (93);
- specialized stores (30.9%; no. 1 in Europe): distribution of electronic products to the general public through 893 stores (Saturn and MediaMarkt names; of which 389 in Germany);
- hypermarkets (16.8%): owns 426 outlets (Real name; of which 316 in Germany);
- department stores (5.2%): owns 140 department stores (Kaufhof and Galeria names; of which 125 in Germany);
- other (0.4%).
Net sales break down geographically as follows: Germany (38.8%), Europe (56.7%), Asia and Africa (4.5%).
