Meyer Burger's DW288 Series 3 diamond wire cutting solution selected as
PV Magazine's 2016 Technology Highlight award winner.

PV Magazine today announced its Technology Highlights for 2016. Meyer Burger's DW288 Series 3 diamond wire cutting technology for the production of high performance silicon solar wafers was selected 2016 Technology Highlight award winner. Also among the Top 10 highly commended technologies were Meyer Burger's MIS solar module tester as well as its high performance heterojunction (HJT) solar cell coating technology.

Meyer Burger Technolog Ltd (SIX Swiss Exchange MBTN) has been honoured with the PV Magazine 2016 Technology Highlight award for its DW288 Series 3 diamond wire cutting solution. Selected from a field of 38 entries by an independent jury made up of photovoltaic experts from the solar manufacturing, research and media sectors, the DW288 Series 3, the newest generation of Meyer Burger's established diamond wire cutting technology, convinced the jury with its improved efficiency in wafer cutting and its downstream impact on high efficiency solar cell technologies.

Also among PV Magazine's Top 10 highly commended technologies for 2016, as recognised by the jury, are Meyer Burger's MIS solar module tester in sixth place and its high performance heterojunction (HJT) cell coating technology in ninth place. The compact new MIS module tester significantly increases manufacturing throughput while increasing pulse length and improving spectrum uniformity with an A+A+A+ LED light source. Meyer Burger's industrialised high performance heterojunction (HJT) technology enables solar cell efficiencies starting at 22% at the lowest cost of production.

Meyer Burger is very proud to be the recipient of the PV Magazine 2016 Technology Award. Such independent recognition by a jury of solar industry experts underscores Meyer Burger's technology leadership in the PV market and strengthens our focus on driving research and technological development to further advance photovoltaic technologies and enable a real sustainable reduction in costs per kWh for solar electricity.
