MFS California Municipal Fund (the Fund) is a diversified closed-end management investment company. The Fund's investment objective is to seek high current income exempt from federal income tax and California personal income tax. It primarily invests in municipal bonds and the MFS Institutional Money Market Portfolio managed by MFS. The Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, including assets attributable to preferred shares and borrowings for investment purposes, in debt securities the interest on which is exempt from federal regular income tax and California personal income tax. MFS Investment Management is the Fund's investment manager.
