Not the standard answer to this equation, but a result demonstrating a real breakthrough for ploughing in the furrow, achieved by three iconic brands in the world of agriculture.

A result demonstrating that when brands, who are leaders in their field, work together with passion and a shared objective, their skills do not simply add up, they multiply - to give a much bigger answer and a much improved yield!

This partnership of Michelin, Massey Ferguson and Grégoire Besson, which started in 2002 with the world ploughing record, was rekindled in 2015 with the intention of developing a world class solution for ploughing in the furrow.

Taking an industry leading tractor, pulling a high performance plough and a specifically designed high traction MICHELIN AxioBib2 tire with a larger footprint and an extra lug per tyre in the soil, has achieved incredible results, the answer to our equation:

  • 26% longer footprint with four lugs extra in the soil on the rear axle
  • 28% more traction
  • 11% increase in output, saving almost 4 hours per 100 hectares ploughed
  • 4% overall increase in crop yield
