MicroPort Scientific : CRONUS™ Granted Scientific and Technological Achievements Award

Shanghai, China - 30 October, 2014 - CRONUS™ Surgical Stent Graft System ("CRONUS™"), an endovascular device of Shanghai MicroPort Medical (Group) Co., Ltd. ("MicroPort"), was recently granted the second prize of scientific and technological achievements by Pudong New Area Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality.

CRONUS™, self-developed by MicroPort's subsidiary MicroPort Endovascular (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., is mainly used in thoracic surgery for DeBakey I and DeBakey III aortic dissection. The device is specifically designed for the substitution of traditional stented elephant trunk procedure. The application of CRONUS™ vascular graft prosthesis has made the complex thoracic aortic surgery more convenient and safer, as it successfully combines traditional open surgery and advanced interventional approaches and significantly reduces the prevalence of morbidity and mortality.

CRONUS™ is one-of-a-kind in China and currently has 100% market share. It has been widely recognized within the medical industry and significantly improved the quality of surgical treatment of complex aortic dissections.
