Mimecast Limited (NASDAQ: MIME), a leading provider of next-generation cloud security and risk management services for corporate information and email, today announced the appointment of Alex Bender as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Mark Basler as Senior Vice President of Product Management. Alex will oversee global marketing efforts, including corporate communications, field marketing, product marketing, demand generation and more, while Mark will lead the product strategy, design and innovation for cutting-edge cloud-based email security, archiving and business continuity solutions.

Prior to Mimecast, Alex was the Vice President of Marketing at Onapsis, Inc. Before that, Alex was general manager of RSA Conference, the leading industry event for information security professionals, implementing innovative ways to engage the RSA Conference community and manage the conference’s expansion. With his deep domain expertise in information security marketing and advertising, Alex will be pivotal in driving product demand and showcasing the value of cloud-based email security services, like Mimecast’s Targeted Threat Protection, as email remains as a common cyber-attack vector.

Mark joins Mimecast from Constant Contact, a leading provider of email marketing SaaS solutions, where he worked for more than five years fulfilling a variety of leadership rolls including head of product management and strategy and head of segment marketing. Prior to that, Mark held management positions at companies like Azuki Systems, IMG Corporation and E Ink, leading product strategy and strategic business development through periods of growth and change. Throughout his career, Mark has developed a strong commitment to a customer-driven roadmap, which will prove fruitful for Mimecast as it continues to innovate based on the needs of 16,200 customers worldwide.

“Mimecast is transforming how organizations protect themselves against advanced email-borne threats, secure their archive and avoid downtime. The transformation will continue with the cyber-security domain expertise of Alex Bender and the cloud expertise of Mark Basler,” said Peter Bauer, CEO of Mimecast. “As Mimecast looks ahead to growth following its recent IPO, both executives will play a huge role in serving Mimecast’s growing customer base. They join a strong executive team that has a track record of success and industry recognition centered around accelerating demand for Mimecast’s security, archiving and continuity services globally amid an evolving threat landscape.”
