Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. scores a drop goal on the final siren to become the

Wallabies Test match naming rights partner for the next two years.

Mitsubishi Estate Company Limited (MEC) is proud to announce that it has become the naming rights partner of all 2018 and 2019 Test Matches hosted by the Australian National Rugby Team, also known as the Wallabies.

In 2018, an historic three-Test series against Ireland in June will be named the "Mitsubishi Estate Ireland Series "and the Australian based matches in the annual southern hemisphere Rugby Championship, played between Australia, Argentina, New Zealand and South Africa, from August to September will be named the "Mitsubishi Estate Rugby Championship".

The Wallabies are one of Australia's most iconic sporting teams and are renowned for their toughness, resilience and sportsmanship. Furthermore, the spirit of rugby, "One for All, All for One", coincides with MEC's basic principles cultivated through enriching urban lives in the form of real estate developments under the brand slogan of "Forever Taking on New Challenges".

Through this sponsorship, MEC hopes to contribute to further growth of rugby football.

■About Australian National Rugby Union Team, nicknamed the Wallabies

The Wallabies are Australia's national men's Rugby Union team. Their first ever match was against a touring British team in 1899 at the Sydney Cricket Ground when they claimed victory 13-3. Since 1899 the Wallabies have played 618 international Tests, winning 316 with a percentage rate of 51.13%. Their biggest victory was during the 2003 Rugby World Cup when the men in gold defeated Namibia 142-0. The Wallabies have competed in eight Rugby World Cups and were crowned champions in 1991 and 1999, and played in the final in 2003 and 2015. The next World Cup will be held in Japan in 2019. The current Head Coach of the Wallabies is Michael Cheika who has been in the role since 2014. The current Captain of the Wallabies is Michael Hooper who has played 79 tests for Australia. The Wallabies are currently ranked fourth in the World Rugby Rankings, behind New Zealand, Ireland and England.
