Vienna, 21 July 2017 - The Mondi Gallery recently opened its eighth art exhibition at the Mondi Group corporate office in Vienna. Entitled 'In Colors of Sun and Sky!' it features artworks by international artists Mikhail Evstafiev and Julia Belova as well as talented Mondi employees Roxana Molnar, Katharina Patocka and Joerg Popp.

The Mondi Gallery is open to Mondi employees and invited guests. Artworks are displayed throughout meeting rooms on the 17th floor, providing a unique opportunity to view and enjoy the art - which is generally also for sale - during day-to-day work.

Marianna Blier, a painter, sculptor and Mondi employee, is the gallery's director. She conceived of the idea for the Mondi Gallery when Mondi was preparing to move to its new office building in 2014. Since then, she has organised and curated all exhibitions to date. Ms Blier says, 'The Mondi Gallery serves as more than just a space to exhibit art. It provides inspiration for our employees and visitors - sparking creativity, collaboration and interaction in our meeting rooms. In addition, it gives our employees a unique opportunity to meet artists and discuss art through our changing exhibitions.'

Since opening, the Mondi Gallery has exhibited around 350 artworks, including paintings, photography, sculpture, video installations and performance pieces. Some 44 artists from 13 countries have been represented so far at the gallery, of which 16 were Mondi employees and artists. Exhibitions change every four months.

Peter Oswald, CEO Mondi Group, commented, 'The Mondi Gallery has evolved from an innovative idea into an important and much appreciated part of daily life at our corporate office. We are delighted to share our meeting spaces and give exposure to a wide range of artists - from those who are well-established to the next rising talents. The Mondi Gallery does an excellent job of reflecting our company culture of promoting creativity, empowerment and recognition among our employees.'

The gallery also supports young, emerging artists by giving them an opportunity to exhibit their work - some for the first time. Selected students at art academies receive a sponsorship package from Mondi to cover their costs of art transport, insurance, framing, etc., as well as a contribution towards art supplies.
