Morgan Stanley : Former Morgan Stanley Executive Garth Peterson Gets 9-Month Prison Term in Bribery Case -Reports

Garth Peterson, a former head of Morgan Stanley's (MS) real-estate investing operations in China, was sentenced to nine months in prison for violating U.S. anticorruption law, according to reports from CNBC and Reuters.
In April, he pleaded guilty and settled related civil charges brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Federal officials alleged that Mr. Peterson bribed a Chinese official.
Prosecutors sought a prison term of 51 to 60 months, Reuters reported.
