Morgan Stanley Weighs Partial Sale of Commodities Unit -CNBC's Kelly

Morgan Stanley (>> Morgan Stanley) is considering the sale of a minority stake in its commodities unit and has spoken with potential suitors, including the Blackstone Group L.P. (BX), although a deal is not imminent, CNBC's Kate Kelly reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Terms of a potential deal are unclear, although the unit historically has generated $2 billion to $3 billion in annual revenue, Kelly reported, citing people with intimate knowledge of the business. Internal discussions at the bank have been ongoing since at least last year, and are driven by concerns over the potential impact of new regulations.
