Moser Baer observes National Safety Week

Greater Noida, March 9, 2013: Moser Baer, committed towards the safety of its employees and protection of the environment, celebrated National Safety Week from March 4 to March 9, 2013 across its offices at various locations. The company organized safety programmmes during the week which were meant to enhance safety awareness among employees and increase their alertness. The concluding ceremony took place at Moser Baer Greater Noida plant today in the gracious presence of Mr. Arun Kumar, Assistant Director of Factories, Noida Region. Matloob Hussain, Chief Fire Officer, Greater Noida V B Lal, Chairman, Central Plant Safety Committee, Moser Baer and MohdZahid Ansari, Head EHS were also present as dignitaries among others.

The event kicked off with the Safety pledge administered by Mr. Arun Kumar. He underlined the importance of safety among all employees of industrial undertakings and highlighted the benefits of safety in every body's life. He highlighted that safety is not only management's responsibility it is the responsibility of each and every individual.

Speaking at the occasion, Piush Bansal, Unit Head, Moser Baer said, "It is our firm belief that our stakeholders that include our employees, our customers, the communities in which we operate, and society as a whole are our most valuable asset and safety is an integral part of our business. Our safety goal is: "No Injuries, No Accidents" .This is embedded in Moser Baer's culture and supported through our core values. Every stakeholderis expected to inculcate and imbibe these values in letter & spirit."

He further added that like every year, National Safety Day (42nd) was celebrated with loads of enthusiasm and positivity. We always emphasize that every employee should keep safety in the heart and eradicate the root causes for accidents and incidents and to ensure that unsafe methods were not resorted to at any cost. We trust that we will make optimum use of our potentials and consistently achieve many more milestones to make our EHS standard world class.

The safety week at Moser Baer began from 4th March with the distribution of safety badges to all employees across various locations. Some of the interesting highlights of the week were poster making competition where employees presented their unique and thought-provoking ideas on safety. Interactive programs on safety like quiz, posters, essay, skit/extempore had received overwhelming response from employees. The organization had also given awards for categories like 'Best EHS Coordinator of the Year' and 'EHS Kaizen of the Year'. These programmmes would tremendously benefit to create awareness and develop a sense on safety in the organization. The winners of various categories in these programmes were felicitated in the concluding ceremony of National safety week today.

The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks from Arun Kapoor, Moser Baer who reiterated Moser Baer's efforts in driving a culture of safety in the organization. He said that Moser Baer has always been trying to implement safety measures and been successful also. Lauding the safety culture at Moser Baer, he said that safety measures at Moser Baer are exemplary and best as far as he has seen in different places. We are collectively building a culture of zero tolerance for not adhering to safety norms and will continue to sensitize all employees as first priority issue with full commitment.
