IDGC of Centre summed up the autumn-winter operation period of 2013 - 2014.

During the autumn-winter period of 2013-2014 there were no major technological disruptions of the electric grid complex of IDGC of Centre recorded. In general, their number decreased by 5.6% compared with the previous year. Specific failure rate decreased: 5.56 in the autumn-winter operation period of 2013-2014 compared with 5.89 in the autumn-winter operation period of 2012-2013.

In preparation for the autumn-winter operation period the most required and important events were the repair program execution, clearing and expansion of ROWs along overhead lines, and the implementation of the investment program.

By the end of 2013 more than 1.8 billion rubles were spent to repair electric grid facilities. 7,282 km of 35-110 kV and 12,895 km of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines were renovated. In addition, 133 substations and 4,893 transformer substations and distribution points were repaired. Last year 16,135 ha of forest ROWs were cleared and 4931.1 ha were widened. In general, it is planned to clear 96.2 thousand ha of ROWs in the service area of the company in the period from 2013 to 2018.

IDGC of Centre gave particular attention to the preparatory work for the elimination of consequences of failures and reduction of restoration time: the company increased twice its fleet of off-highway special vehicles that are fully equipped with the monitoring system GLONASS/GPS "AutoTracker". This allowed to significantly increase the mobility of first responding crews. 90 crews (of distribution and power lines services) of increased mobility of 524 people with 167 off-highway special vehicles and machinery are available around the clock. In the past the autumn-winter operation period they repeatedly proved its effectiveness, promptly restoring power supply to consumers and helping power engineers of other electric grid companies.

"IDGC of Centre has successfully operated through the autumn and winter period of 2013-2014. The company steady-going withstood the test of bad weather, natural disasters, thanks to the coordinated activities of the staff, large-scale repair program, the implementation of the investment program we managed to prevent serious failures and interruptions in electricity supply to consumers," says Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin.
