The Department of Economic Development of the Belgorod region held a working meeting, during which representatives of IDGC of Centre and the authorities of the region discussed issues of execution of the investment program of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division for 2015, as well as projects of perspective development of grid facilities in the near future.

The event was attended by Deputy Governor of the Belgorod region - Head of the Department of Economic Development Oleg Abramov, First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin, First Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre Konstantin Mikhailik and Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division director Sergey Demidov.

The meeting's participants stressed that the development of the energy sector should outpace economic growth in the region, provide the necessary capacity reserve for the implementation of numerous regional programs aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens of the Belgorod region.

In accordance with the approved investment program of IDGC of Centre in the Belgorod region, this year more than 4 billion rubles (including VAT) will be spent on construction and reconstruction of power supply facilities to consumers.

Most of the funds will be invested into the development of the construction and reconstruction of power facilities to ensure reliable operation of enterprises connected to the grid, as well as for grid connection of social institutions and housing and communal services: kindergartens, schools, hospitals, fitness centres and houses of culture, individual and multi-family housing. About 2.8 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes. Of these, 500 million will go to provide power grid infrastructure of private housing construction, 37.8 million - to connect new and renovated facilities of water supply and sanitation to the grid, and more than 33 million - to implement resettlement of the emergency fund, within which about 40 high-rise buildings will be built.

Over 1.1 billion will be spent on the construction of networks and connecting small and medium-sized businesses within the import substitution program. The region will have new greenhouses and dairy complex, creameries, meat production enterprises, grain drying systems, etc.

A total of about 1.3 billion rubles are allocated to increase the reliability of the electric grids and substations of the branch. The power engineers will perform comprehensive reconstruction of three feeding centres: the 110 kV Substation "Veidelevka", 35 kV Substation "Gostischevo" and 110 kV "Vitamin Plant". The latter provides power supply to a number of industrial enterprises and private housing construction in the eastern part of the regional centre. The power engineers will install in the feeding centres new gas-insulated switches, circuit breakers, operating current control systems, relay protection and automation devices, switchgear and other high-voltage equipment. It is planned to complete the work already this year.

Following the meeting, it was noted that the timely implementation of the investment program will contribute to the reliable operation of the grid complex in the coming autumn and winter period, and ensure the dynamic development of the regional economy.
