IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division is ready for the autumn-winter operation period. This is the conclusion of the interdepartmental commission that completed the work in the branch, which included representatives of Rostekhnadzor, Department of Energy, Housing and Utilities of the Kostroma region, General Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in the Kostroma region, a branch of OAO 'SO UES' Kostroma Transmission Control Centre, and IDGC of Centre. Deputy Chief Engineer for Operation of IDGC of Centre Anton Gerasimov handed to Director of the company Alexander Glebov the Certificate of readiness of Kostromaenergo for the winter operation. 'Quality conducted by specialists of the branch preparatory work will ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers in the Kostroma region in the autumn-winter period,' he stressed.

In anticipation of the winter specialists of Kostromaenergo performed a large amount of work aimed at improving the reliability of the electric grid complex of the region. One of the most important tasks to prepare for the autumn-winter operation period is the repair program. Power engineers performed comprehensive repair of 22 substations of 35-110 kV and 530 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV. A total of more than 1,700 hectares of ROWs of power lines were cleared from trees and shrubs this year.

To reduce the time to eliminate process violations during the autumn-winter operation period Kostromaenergo created eight mobile first responding and restoration crews. Each has a dedicated off-road vehicle. To ensure, if necessary, autonomous power supply of socially significant facilities the branch formed a mobile fleet of reserve sources of electricity in the amount of 59 pieces. All the installations passed the necessary routine maintenance, were tested, charged, have a reserve of fuel and are ready to work. Employees of Kostromaenergo prepared lists of infrastructure facilities, worked out ways to deliver generators and circuits connecting them.

In preparation for the autumn-winter operation period the branch conducted additional emergency drills of operating staff. In late August the branch of Kostromaenergo together with the administrations of the city of Kostroma and a number of districts of the region, Kostroma Transmission Control Centre, General Directorate of EMERCOM in the Kostroma region, Volga-Oka PMES and TGK-2 conducted exercises to eliminate potential failures at low temperatures. During the exercises they worked out interaction of units of the Kostroma region in the aftermath of natural disasters in the winter. Operations of the units of the branch were given a positive assessment.

'Getting the Certificate of readiness is an important outcome of many months of work of power engineers. This winter we will do everything in our power to make the electric grid complex of the region work reliably, without technological failures,' stressed Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division director Alexander Glebov.
