Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division continue to conduct lessons on electrical safety in schools of the Kursk region. Since the beginning of the new school year the power engineers have already organized 45 such lessons, more than 1,100 students have taken part in them.

Regular sessions were held in secondary schools of Pristensky and Bolshesoldatsky districts and gathered more than 200 schoolchildren. Kurskenergo's experts told the schoolchildren about the nature of occurrence of electric current, spoke about its importance in human life, and most importantly - how it can be dangerous if you do not observe the rules of handling electrical appliances.

The children learned about handling with electricity at home and in the street, how to behave near energy facilities. For clarity the power engineers showed them pictures of substations, power lines, poles and electrical panels that are in the service area of Kurskenergo. Then the children were demonstrated a video, which in an accessible form showed the basic rules of electrical safety and signs warning of the danger.

By tradition, the most interesting part of the lesson was a practical lesson on first aid to a victim from the effects of electric current on the example of a special simulator 'Gosha'.

At the end of the lesson the power engineers gave the children timetables, bookmarks with basic rules of electrical safety. In addition, each schoolchild received a book 'Energolandiya' with poems, puzzles, riddles, and tests of electrical safety.

Teachers of schools, where classes were held, were unanimous: benefits of such activities are large, so this important work needs to be continued.

By the end of this year, Kurskenergo's experts plan to hold another 80 electrical safety lessons, which will be attended by about 4,000 children.
