IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division performed connection to the electric grid of the region's largest sports and recreation camp - 'Tambov Artek' for 200 people in the village of Karaul in Inzhavinsky district. Power supply sources of the camp were the substation 110/35/10 kV 'Inzhavinskaya' and 35/10 'Karavainskaya'. As part of the agreement on grid connection Tambov power engineers provided power of 420 kilowatts, having constructed for this purpose a two-transformer substation of 10/0.4 kV and two power lines of 10 kV.

The camp 'Tambov Artek' was built on the right bank of the River Vorona, on a high hill, in the ecologically clean area. It is located near Karaulsky children's home, which until the 90s of the last century was based in the former estate of the noble Chicherins, where the famous Soviet diplomat, the first People's Commissar of Foreign Affairs Georgy Chicherin was born and spent his childhood. In the camp all year round children 6 to 18 years of age will improve their health and rest, who achieve some success in social activities and studies, winners of competitions, contests, games, as well as children from low-income families and with disabilities. In addition, they will be able to study here and to participate in developing programs of artistic, social, educational, physical culture and sports, tourist and local history focus.

'All activities for the grid connection of 'Tambov Artek' were performed by our experts qualitatively and in short terms. It was the kind of contribution of the power engineers of IDGC of Centre in the building of a new national system of physical culture and sports education of the population, the implementation of a regional program for the integration of children with disabilities into society and the creation of a barrier-free movement environment,' stressed Head of grid connections of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division Roman Stanin.
