MRSK Tsentra : Tambovenergo is working on clearing and extension of ROWs ahead of schedule

IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division is successfully implementing the program for clearing and extension of ROWs of overhead power lines, scheduled for the current 2014. Work is ahead of schedule. In the first seven months of 2014 Tambov power engineers cleared 368.83 hectares, which is 9.5% higher than expected for this time period (336.97 ha). Activities to expand the ROWs have been made in the amount of 95.6 hectares - 27.9% above the plan (74.76 hectares). The annual plan of the branch to clear ROWs is 556.06 hectares, to extend - 251.11 hectares.

The most significant amount of work falls on the territory of Morshansky, Pichaevsky, Kirsanovsky and Rasskazovsky districts where forests cover large areas. The overall proportion of forest plantations in the Tambov region is more than 10% of the territory of the region.

In the course of the work the power engineers use modern, high performance machinery, such as mulchers. In their application cut wood shoots and shrubs are utilized by grinding into wood chips, which remain on the surface. Using the methods and technologies of a new generation allows clearing of ROWs in a short period of time, without damaging the environment and the risk of fire situations in the forests.
