The structure of the assets acquired by IDGC of Centre in Uglich municipal district, which were formerly in a long-term lease by the company, includes 250 kilometres of electrical networks and 67 transformer substations with total capacity of 32.365 MVA, providing power supply of the city of Uglich.

Thus, currently the share of IDGC of Centre in the regional market of electricity transmission in the Yaroslavl region exceeded 90%. The integration of assets into a single complex creates the conditions for a common approach in the implementation of technical policy of the company, supervisory control, and implementation of energy saving technologies. The single operating management can improve efficiency in emergency response and quicker reaction to disturbances in the grid.

The consolidation of power grid assets and the reduction of fragmentation of territorial grid organizations is one of the priorities laid down in the strategy of development of the electric grid complex of the Russian Federation approved by the RF Government. The integration of power grid assets on the basis of the company 'Russian Grids', which includes IDGC of Centre, is supported by the Russian Ministry of Energy and is important in terms of creating a single grid space and a single point of responsibility for quality and reliable power supply to consumers.

Electrical networks of the region should be a single system and serviced only by professionals. This position has been repeatedly voiced by the leadership of the Yaroslavl region. Regional authorities support IDGC of Centre in the consolidation of the regional electric grid complex, which is reflected in the cooperation agreement, concluded between the Yaroslavl branch of the company and the Government of the Yaroslavl region.

From October to March electric networks experience maximum load. Because of unfavourable weather conditions at that time there is the greatest number of failures and power engineers have increased responsibility. Local private and municipal networks, which service about 10% of electric grid assets of the region, do not have the resources to provide an adequate level of maintenance of its facilities. One large company should manage the networks, with its vast resource base, which has extensive experience in first responding and restoration operations and, most importantly, is willing to take responsibility for uninterrupted power supply of the facilities, it is responsible for.

In addition, for large first responding and restoration operations a large grid company is able to regroup its forces and resources within the region, as well as to attract repair personnel from other regions of its service area. Another positive aspect of the integration of the regional energy system is to simplify work to synchronize plans for the development of electric systems with development plans of territories. This allows developing long-term investment programs, focusing on the needs of investors, developers, businesses and residents. All these activities directly contribute to improving the functioning of the power system. The pace of further consolidation depends directly on the development of the regional power industry, and with it the economy, industry and the social sphere.

'For residents it is no matter who owns the grid and transmits electricity. People just want to have constantly electricity in their homes, and blackouts as rarely as possible. The more grid companies are involved in the transmission of electricity to the end customer, the more the level of security of energy supply is reduced and the responsibility for malfunctions and problems is unclear. Creating a single grid company, which is wholly responsible for the entire electric grid complex, carries out a single technical policy in the modernization and maintenance of grid assets allows developing a single scheme of perspective development of electric grids and providing effective funding. A single point of responsibility contributes to shortening the response to failures and emergency situations, as well as the timing of grid connection of new customers. The integration of electricity networks into IDGC of Centre is a natural process, since among power grid companies in the region our branch is the undisputed leader. We are not afraid of responsibility and are ready to provide reliable and quality power supply to consumers throughout the territory of the Yaroslavl region,' stressed Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division director Alexander Kornilov.
