IDGC of Centre warns: violating the rules of being in security zones of overhead power lines is dangerous for life!

Today in Gavrilov-Yamsky district of the Yaroslavl region there was an accident with a dump truck driver, who violated the rules for finding in the security zone of overhead power lines (conductors). Being directly under the power line of 10 kilovolts, the dump truck driver lifted the body and touched the wires. When trying to leave the car, the victim fell under the step voltage. Representatives of EMERCOM, police, ambulance crews and employees of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division immediately arrived to the scene. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified. At present, the truck driver is in the Gavrilov-Yamsky Central District Hospital.

IDGC of Centre's specialists regularly conduct activities aimed at preventing electric injuries involving adults and children. The dimensions of the 10kV overhead line meet the requirements of the normative and technical documentation, there are also visual signs of safety on poles. The power company reminds: in the security zone of overhead power lines without written approval from the grid organization, it is PROHIBITED:

- any loading and unloading operations, as well as digging excavations;

- planting and cutting down trees and shrubs;

- passage of vehicles and mechanisms having a common height with or without cargo from the road surface of more than 4.5 metres;

- field agricultural work using agricultural machines and equipment with a height of more than 4 metres (in security zones of overhead power lines) or field agricultural work associated with plowing the land (in security zones of cable (underground) power lines).

If as a result of the work carried out, you have hit a conductor pole or caused any other damage to electrical equipment, do not try to solve the problem yourself! Stay where you are, try not to let other people into the area of ​​damage within a radius of at least 8 metres and immediately, in any way, bring the information to power engineers, the police or the administration.
