MRSK Tsentra : IDGC of Centre implements innovative solutions in the Tver region

IDGC of Centre will present at the exhibition booth of the Tver region at the XVI International Investment Forum in Sochi an innovative project of a digital substation and 'smart distribution grid' on the basis of the 35/10 kV Substation Turginovo, which is planned to be implemented in the electric grid complex of the Tver region.

While reconstructing the 35/10 kV Substation Turginovo it is planned to create self-healing distribution grid with a digital substation, which is a single technological set, based on software and hardware protection solutions, automation and control of both equipment of the substation itself and 10 kV outgoing lines from the substation, created on the basis of the IEC 61850 standard.

It is planned to reconstruct the 10 kV distribution grid with replacement of obsolete equipment (wooden and concrete poles, uninsulated steel-aluminum conductors) with modern, including those developed in the framework of the Company's R&D: 10 kV poles with bodies of composite materials, 0.4 kV anchor steel multi-sided poles and pole-mounted 10/0.4 kV transformer substations.

Automation and increase in the observability of the distribution grid will be provided by installation of automatic sectionalizers (reclosers) and short-circuit indicators.

It is expected that after the implementation of cutting-edge technical solutions the reliability of power supply of existing customers will improve, and duration of fault location and elimination will decrease.

As a result of the reconstruction project of the substation and the adjacent distribution grid the comprehensive innovative solution implementation will be tested in practice with the assessment of the effectiveness of the implementation and the possibility of subsequent replication at other facilities of the service area of IDGC of Centre.
