MRSK Tsentra : Kurskenergo is ready for the fire danger period

IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division completed preparations for the fire hazardous season. Power engineers performed a set of measures aimed at ensuring reliable operation of electric grid equipment during high temperatures.

Particular attention was paid to ensuring fire safety of outdoor and indoor switchgears, oil storages, mobile repair shops and rotation based work vehicles, their equipment with properly functioning primary fire extinguishing means. Employees of the company cleared the territory of buildings and structures of substations, production bases and garages from combustible waste, oil bottles and garbage, checked the condition of access roads to water sources and fire hydrants. Around the perimeter, more than 200 substations of 35-110 kV were fire plowed, which do not have a continuous concrete fence and are located in zones of fire hazardous areas.

30 joint exercises and trainings of the personnel of Kurskenergo and the territorial division of EMERCOM of Russia were held to work out interaction at liquidation of emergency situations with the threat of power supply violation. In addition, more than 1,800 employees of the branch passed extraordinary briefings on compliance with fire safety rules.

Explanatory work was carried out with consumers of the region on the importance of compliance with fire safety measures in the security zones of power lines. Agricultural producers, on whose territory the overhead power lines pass, were handed over memos on observance of the rules for the protection of electric grids and responsibility for the fire condition of overhead power line ROWs.

With the onset of a fire hazardous period, Kurskenergo draws the attention of residents of the Kursk region to the need to comply with fire and electrical safety measures at home, garden plots, and in places of active recreation. The power company asks to refrain from setting fires near power facilities. Such actions can lead to damage to poles and power lines and, as a result, to violation of power supply to consumers.
