For the last two months of 2017 Smolensk power engineers visited 13 schools in the region where they held thematic classes on electrical safety for teachers and pupils. So, in January specialists of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division conducted classes in the fourth grades of schools No. 17 and 21 in the city of Smolensk and in the secondary school of the village of Ponyatovka in Shumyachsky district, and in February the power engineers visited ten schools in the city of Smolensk and the region. Total for 2 months more than 500 schoolchildren refreshed the rules of electrical safety.

Children and teenagers often play near transformer substations, power lines and other power facilities, without thinking that careless behaviour in these places can lead to serious injuries and even death. Smolenskenergo makes every effort to protect young citizens from irreparable disaster.

During the classes the specialists of the branch conducted cognitive conversations with children and teenagers about the role of electricity in the modern man's life. The demonstration of a film and interactive games made the lessons live and interesting.

In the conclusion of the lessons, fixing the knowledge, the children answered quiz questions and solved energy crossword puzzles. The power engineers hope that when they return home, the children not only think that electricity is not always safe, but they will also share knowledge with their relatives and friends.

By the end of the year, specialists of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division plan to conduct 113 similar events in schools, boarding houses, summer recreation camps and kindergartens in the Smolensk region.
