MRSK Tsentra : On the eve of the school year Kurskenergo intensifies the work on the prevention of electric injuries

IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division before the beginning of the new school year conducts a set of additional preventive measures for electrical safety.

At power facilities located in the territory and near schools, inspections of the integrity of fences and locks, the availability of information signs on the danger of electric shock are conducted, routine maintenance of electrical equipment is performed.

The realization of planned measures is continued to remove overhead lines and transformer substations from the territory of schools, children's playgrounds and the replacement of overhead lines with uninsulated wire with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW), in particular, in the section of the 10 kV overhead line (Conductor) of the substation (SS) Rylskaya', passing near the territory of school number 5 in the city of Rylsk and in the section of the 6 kV overhead line, passing near the territory of the Novoposelenovskaya primary school in the city of Kursk.

One of the important components of the work on the prevention of electric injuries among children is lessons on electrical safety. Thus, during the summer holidays, Kurskenergo's employees already held 500 thematic classes in children's health and school camps, more than 2,500 children took part in them. The specialists of the branch acquainted the children with the rules of safe behaviour near power facilities and the rules for using electrical appliances, taught them how to move around in the zone of ground fault currents, and taught skills in providing first aid to the victim. This work will continue with the beginning of the school year.

To increase the efficiency of work along the streets of the city a trolleybus runs with pictures and slogans on the prevention of children's electric injuries on its sides.

With the aim of forming a culture of safe handling of electricity with schoolchildren and raising the level of knowledge of electrical safety rules, Kurskenergo's specialists carry out measures for the prevention of electric injuries on a constant basis.
