Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division conducted a tour for students of the 2nd year of the Tver State Technical University, studying in the specialty 'Electric power engineering and electrical engineering'.

The power engineers showed the students the Grid Control Centre (GCC). It is here that all information about the state of substations and power lines from the whole region flows. The head of the operational and technological service of the Centre, Ivan Sukhanov, told the students in detail how the remote control of power facilities is carried out, which is the responsibility of operators, how activities of first responding mobile crews are controlled, and so on. After the students were able to observe the work of the operators in real time, ask them their questions. Special attention of the future power engineers was paid to a large screen, in which the current situation on energy supply to consumers in the region is displayed online.

Having acquainted with the work of the GCC, the students went to the Lebedevo substation. This power centre was constructed in 2014 to provide power supply for the Tver excavator plant 'Hitachi', as well as part of consumers of Kalininsky district. At the end of the tour the specialists answered numerous questions of the young people, including the conditions of work, requirements for education and qualification of future staff. The power engineers in turn reminded the students about the cooperation agreement between the educational institution and the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre and invited them to the production practice.

'Our company pays great attention to the training of qualified personnel for the subsequent work in the enterprise. Choosing a profession is a complex and responsible step in the life of every person, and the best way to determine it is to look at this profession from the inside. That is why, in addition to tours and open doors days, which are regularly held at the enterprise, the company annually invites students of power engineering specialties to work practice. We provide students with power engineering specialties an opportunity to get to know the specifics of the daily work of power engineers, personally ask professionals questions they are interested in. What young people will see here, they will never be shown in the classroom,' stressed Ekaterina Terekhina, the head of the HR department of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division.
