Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division continue to implement measures aimed at reducing theft of electricity.

The branch's power engineers conduct regular preventive and outreach work with the population. The theft of electricity causes damage not only to the energy company, but also to thousands of consumers, leaving with no life support facilities schools, kindergartens and other socially important institutions. The most common methods of stealing electricity are intentional spoilage of electricity meters, installation of concealed wiring, unauthorized connection to overhead power lines.

Thus, on 25 January 2017, representatives of Gryazinsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division during the inspection of the technical condition of electric grid facilities and the reading of meters for electricity consumers in the city of Gryazi uncovered the consumption of electricity at the address of Gryazi, Sovetskaya str., house 141/2 with power receiving devices belonging to P.V. Chernikov. In this regard, and on the basis of clause 192 of the Regulation on the Functioning of Retail Electricity Markets (approved by Resolution of the RF Government No. 442 of 04.05.2012), an act of non-metered electricity consumption was drawn up.

At present, illegal actions on the part of P.V. Chernikov are being considered, he must recover debts for the non-metered consumption of electricity, which is 10 times higher than the cost of electricity consumed in the normal mode. In case of late payment, full limitation of the energy consumption mode will be introduced.

According to the Russian Federation Administrative Offence Code, for unauthorized connection to the power grid, the liability provided for in Article 7.19. occurs 'Unauthorized connection and use of electrical, thermal energy, oil or gas'. This article implies imposition of a fine on the person in charge, which in the future will happen to the owner-infringer.

The prompt elimination of facts of illegal connection of electrical equipment, wire connection on power lines, violations of the integrity of meters, connections to other person's facilities will help ensure the reliability of electricity supply and reduce losses in grids, the cost of which is one of the components of tariffs for electricity.

In addition, we remind that unauthorized connection to power grids or unauthorized interference in the operation of metering devices can provoke the failure of household appliances, voltage surges, fire or even threaten the life and health of people.

To report the theft, you can also call the round-the-clock direct line of the company at 8-800-50-50-115 and by e-mail: vorunet@mrsk-1.ru.
