MTR Enhances Train Services for the Christmas and New Year Holiday Season
To celebrate the upcoming Christmas and New Year festive season, MTR will be operating 783 additional train trips on the Winter Solstice, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve to enable customers to travel with ease and make the most of the holiday festivities.
"MTR is committed to providing convenient railway services for our customers. We understand that there will be higher demand for public transport during the holiday season, therefore we will provide additional train trips as well as overnight train services on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve for our customers to fully enjoy the festivities." said Mr Adi Lau, Operations Director of the MTR Corporation.
To offer more convenience for customers who wish to stay out late to celebrate to the full on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, overnight train services will be provided on all MTR lines except the Airport Express, Disneyland Resort Line and several Light Rail routes. Additional train trips will also be provided starting from the afternoon on 22 December to serve customers' travel needs on the Winter Solstice. (See details in Annex)
MTR Corporation would like to wish customers a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and a relaxing holiday with their family and friends. While celebrating the festive season, members of the public are reminded not to bring any metallic balloons into MTR premises as these objects can affect railway operations.

The Disneyland Resort Line service will close as usual at 12:45am on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
Light Rail
To provide greater convenience to West Rail Line customers and residents of the Northwest New Territories, Light Rail routes 505, 507, 610, 614P, 615P, 706 and 751 will run throughout the night on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve at 10 to 18-minute intervals.
MTR Bus
MTR bus routes 506 and K51 feeding the West Rail Line will extend service to 2:00am on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve with buses running at 10 to 15-minute intervals.
