Local Photographers Showcase "The Portfolios" at "Art in MTR" Exhibition

Commuters can enjoy images covering different themes when they travel through Entrance/Exit J of MTR Central Station where a new photography exhibition entitled "The Portfolios" is on display, starting from today (10 July 2018) until 28 August 2018. The images, encompassing a variety of themes were cover photos of Hong Kong Professional Photographers Network's annual publication, will be exhibited under the MTR Corporation's "Art in MTR" programme. Some of the best works of the organisation's photographers are also on display.

"Looking at the past covers of our publication, it is clear that some of the photos were closely tied with what Hong Kong was experiencing at the time. We hope the exhibition can raise public awareness over professional photography, which is an integral part of the local creative industry," said Mr Raymond Ng, one of the Founders of the Hong Kong Professional Photographers Network.

"Amidst the hustle and bustle of Central, these photos may attract passengers' attention to pause for a moment of reflection," said Ms Linda So, Corporate Affairs Director of MTR Corporation.

"Apart from providing safe, reliable and convenient service for our passengers, MTR also seeks to enhance customers' experience by showcasing inspirational art pieces at MTR stations on a regular basis," she added.

"The Portfolios" is the latest art exhibition as part of the "Art in MTR" programme under the Corporation's "Community Connect" platform. "Art in MTR" provides a platform for aspiring artists, designers and talented individuals in the creative industries to showcase their works to the community. The objective of this programme is to enhance passengers' travelling experience through easy access to different art elements including live performances, short-term art exhibitions and permanent displays of art pieces.
