Athens, Greece - 1 June 2018 - For one more year, MYTILINEOS stands out in Health & Safety Awards, with two top distinctions granted to the Metallurgy Sector - Aluminium of Greece for actions promoting health and safety at the work place.

In particular, MYTILINEOS was granted the golden award for the ''Emergency Unit of Aluminium of Greece''. This is an integrated system for emergency situations (e.g. accidents, fire, entrapments, interventions in enclosed premises etc) consisting of properly trained personnel. The company has adopted an Occupational Health and Safety management system certified by the international standard OHSAS 18001. To this end, it takes preventive actions to cope with emergencies, in order to verify the personnel's readiness and effectiveness.

The Unit's respective activity is not only limited to the plant's premises; it also assists the Authorities in coping with incidents in the broader area to provide effective and prompt assistance, upon receiving a call for immediate action.

The company was awarded an equivalent distinction for ''Safety Missions'', a well-established practice in the Metallurgy Sector whereby every employee is exclusively involved for a specific period of time in safety issues, whether job related or not. This action aims at rendering safety part of each employee's working routine.

MYTILINEOS proves that it rightly ranks amongst the top enterprises placing Health and Safety along their key priorities, while continuously monitoring best international practices, with a view to further upgrading its operation level.
