A European multi-sites event in 13 countries simultaneously, in the framework of the World Cancer Day

Paris, France, January 28, 2014 - Nanobiotix (Euronext: NANO) a clinical-stage nanomedicine company pioneering novel approaches for the treatment of cancer and the European Platform of Nanomedicine (ETPN) will organize a European event on January 30-31st on

"Nanomedicine for cancer … did you know? An event shedding light"

The Nano World Cancer Day is an annual pan-European event happening in the framework of the World Cancer Day (February 4th) and under the aegis of the ETPN. Beneficiating from the media coverage of the World Cancer Day, these simultaneous press conferences are a chance to raise awareness and improve knowledge about the field of nanomedicine and its range of applications against cancer, from diagnostic to therapeutic perspectives.

For 2014, 13 countries already gave their engagement to set up a national event, highlighting the importance of nanomedicine research for cancer on the European level: in Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom.

Nano World Cancer Day 2014 will focus on shedding light on the four following themes:

1) Cancer today: what is at stake

2) Nanomedicine for cancer: what it is and how it works

3) Nanomedicine is already a reality for patients

4) Yes, we can make it happen faster

Leading local experts involved in the French event (in Paris) will address all these aspects shedding light on Nanomedicine and Cancer:

- Laurent LEVY, Vice-Chairman of the ETPN, CEO of Nanobiotix, Paris

- Dr. Jean-Michel VANNETZEL, radiation oncologist, Radiotherapy department of the Clinique Hartmann and President of the Breast Institute Henri Hartmann, Neuilly-sur-Seine

- Judith GRECIET, CEO of BioAlliance Pharma, Paris

- Claire COROT, Senior VP Research Innovation of Guerbet, Villepinte

This second edition of the Nano World Cancer day is organized in parallel of a series of initiatives launched under NANOMED2020 like the Nanomedicine Awards (http://nanomedicine-award.com/) and the European Nanomed Map (http://www.etp-nanomedicine.eu/public/european-nanomedicine-map). These initiatives were launched to structure the European landscape and promote the field of nanomedicine to both the general public and all stakeholders involved in such ecosystem.
