Navitas Chairman honoured with Company Directors award

The Chairman of global education services provider Navitas, Harvey Collins, has been honoured with the 2014 Gold Medal Award from the WA Division of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
The honour is awarded annually in recognition of the recipient's contribution to the economic progress of Western Australia and to the highest standards of corporate governance. Services to the community and efforts in non-profit organisations are also recognised and it is only awarded to one who exemplifies leadership values of excellence and integrity and encourages the highest ethical standards.
Past recipients include Michael Chaney, Kerry Stokes, Trevor Eastwood, Janet Holmes
A'Court and Sam Walsh.
Harvey Collins has been a non-executive director of Navitas since 2004 and the Company's Chairman since 2006. He has extensive executive experience in a range of industries including as Chief Financial Officer at Western Australian regional bank, Challenge Bank Limited. His extensive Board experience includes executive director of listed investment company, Chieftain Securities, non-executive Chairman of Bankwest and non-executive director (Deputy Chairman) of Verve Energy.
Harvey has also been global Chairman of Hagar International. Hagar is an international not-for-profit organisation committed to the protection, recovery and reintegration of women and children who have suffered severe human rights abuses. Hagar operates in Cambodia, Afghanistan and Vietnam.
"Harvey has made a significant contribution to many organisations in his career, especially Navitas which he has helped guide to become a top 100 ASX company with operations in 27 countries," said Rod Jones, Group Chief Executive Officer of Navitas.
