Neogen's sales and marketing teams complete HACCP training

LANSING, Mich., Feb. 2, 2016 - Neogen has expanded the comprehensive training its food safety sales and marketing teams receive to include certificate training in the development and implementation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and prerequisite programs.

Neogen's teams recently received training through a Michigan State University Extension program, which is accredited by the International HACCP Alliance. The alliance was established to provide a uniform program to ensure safer meat and poultry products for consumers.

"We are very fortunate to have Michigan State University as our neighbor in the Lansing area, and to able to work with food safety experts from the university and the throughout the food industry," said Gerry Broski, Neogen's senior director of marketing. "The HACCP training program represented a fantastic opportunity for our sales and marketing teams to learn more about the escalating challenges being faced by the food industry, as its members work to comply with new and expanded food safety rules and regulations.

"As our sales and marketing teams continue their work with Neogen customers throughout the global food industry, the teams will do so with an enhanced perspective of how our food safety solutions can fit into a company's HACCP program," Broski continued.

Neogen Corporation develops and markets products dedicated to food and animal safety. The company's Food Safety Division markets dehydrated culture media, and diagnostic test kits to detect foodborne bacteria, natural toxins, food allergens, drug residues, plant diseases and
