Maintpartner Oy receives Neste's contractor safety award

Neste annually rewards a contractor that has improved its safety practices, has not compromised on safety in its operations, and has performed its work with a high level of quality and safety. Neste granted the award to Maintpartner Oy this year. The winner of the award was announced during Neste Safe Day on May 13, 2016. Last year, the award was granted to Bilfinger Industrial Services Finland Oy.

'We want to be at the top of our industry in safety as well and our aim is to have zero accidents and incidents. With the safety award, we want to encourage also our contractors to develop their operations and safety practices in order to achieve our common goal,' says Matti Lievonen, President and CEO of Neste.

This is the second time the award has been granted. Maintpartner Oy, the recipient this year, specializes in industrial maintenance. The company started as a Neste contractor in the maintenance of rotating equipment and then expanded to other operations, too.

'Maintpartner has demonstrated solid commitment to perform its work with a high level of safety. For example, Maintpartner employees actively report on their safety observations and near misses, which helps us develop the safety and availability of our refineries,' says Lievonen.
