NET Federal to Showcase Its VX, NX and UX Series for
Government Customers Seeking Secure Voice and Data
Applications
DULLES, VA, Jan 23, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --NET
Federal, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Network Equipment
Technologies, Inc. ("NET") (NASDAQ: NWK), announced
today that it will exhibit at the AFCEA West show, January
23-26, 2012 in booth 1624. Co-sponsored by AFCEA
International and the U.S. Naval Institute, West 2012 is the
largest event on the West Coast for communications,
electronics, intelligence, and information systems. NET
Federal will showcase the company's voice and data
product solutions from its VX, NX and UX Series products.
VX Series Product Family NET's VX Series delivers
features necessary for government customers to move to
software enabled voice solutions while maintaining the strict
security and reliability that the Department of Defense (DoD)
requires in its voice systems. Optimized for government use,
the VX Series supports advanced frame packing for bandwidth
optimization as well as MLPP and advanced security features.
It also has a robust implementation of V.150 Universal Modem
Relay that communicates between secure IP phones. NET's
VX Series is JITC-certified as a Deployed Network Element
(D-NE).
Features such as Assured Services - SIP (AS-SIP), V.150
Universal Modem Relay, and advanced frame packing techniques
offered in the VX Series are critical components in the
government's migration to next-generation, software
enabled, unified capabilities platforms. Proven by use in DoD
and NATO, NET's VX Series is the clear choice for
government entities looking to achieve the advantages of next
generation voice systems while assuring adherence to the DoD
standards for security and reliability.
NX Series Product Family NET's NX Series high-performance
networking platforms provide high-grade data transfer between
storage area networks (SANs) and WANs and enable secure grid
computing. NET will be demonstrating its NX1000, an
IP-enabled platform with an on-board IP trunk module, which
provides a flexible, cost-effective IP aggregation solution
that facilitates migration of legacy traffic to IP. NET's
NX1000 is a new generation of Intelligent Bandwidth Manager.
The NX1000 works with the Promina family of bandwidth
managers and it adds to Promina's extensive capabilities.
Housed in a small (4RU), energy efficient chassis, the NX1000
offers the bandwidth of a Promina 800 and incorporates an IP
Trunk module for connecting TDM traffic, both serial and
voice, over an IP transport. The NX1000 will separate the TDM
traffic over IP into Direct Virtual Trunks (DVTs), allowing a
single IP aggregate to communicate with up to 16 other
NX1000s over the IP transport. It can also utilize the IP
Trunk to transport standard SATOP traffic from the NX1000 to
any other device capable of receiving SATOP circuits. The
NX1000 supports all Promina expansion shelf cards as well as
the new High Density Data Modules (4 RS530 Serial Ports) and
PVS-EM Voice Modules (4 T1/E1, Echo and Compression). The
NX1000 is fully manageable through netMS, NET's network
management system for Promina.
UX2000 Session Mediation Controller The UX2000 is a modular
1U system that has been purpose-built for unified
communications, enterprise border controller and
multi-service business gateway applications. The UX2000 comes
equipped with up to six high performance DSPs and two telecom
card slots with a choice of 2, 4, or 8 port DS1 cards,
offering the industry's best mediation processing for
IP-to-TDM, IP-to-IP, or TDM-to-TDM solutions. An optional,
high-performance, server-class application solutions module
(ASM) based on a 2.53Ghz Intel Core i7 processor can also be
added for third-party application support. In contrast to
media gateways, which can have severely degraded call
capacities during high complexity media processing
operations, the UX2000 can support up to 600 simultaneous
transcoded and encrypted calls. As a session mediation
platform, UX Series products reduce both capital and
operational expenses by eliminating the need to purchase
separate infrastructure components such as a PSTN gateway,
session border controller, and application server. The UX
Series is qualified as a Survivable Branch Appliance for
Microsoft(R) Lync(TM) 2010.
