Foundation NEUCA For Health on May 27 (Saturday) will open the clinic 'Open Doors' where people in need will get the chance to profit from free of charge medical assistance. The clinic will be located at the city shelter for the Homeless at 82-84 Skłodowska-Curie Street in Toruń. Each person in need will be able to consult a doctor. The patients will receive free basic pharmaceuticals and dressings, that were donated to the Foundation by the Sponsors. The clinic will also operate on Saturdays once a month 10:00-15:00. The assistance will be given by the medical students, supervised by the qualified doctor.

- Foundation acts for the health. The clinic opens up since we wish to eliminate the discrepancies in access to the medical healthcare. We do not want however, the lack of financial resources to become the obstacle in receiving medical treatment - explains Bogusława Golus-Jankowska from the NUECA For Health Foundation Board. The creation of the clinic is possible due to the co-operation with the Health Department of the UMT - Toruń City Office. It is already the Foundation's second initiative of such kind in the region. The first clinic operates from last year in Bydgoszcz, at Ossolińscy street and offers help to nearly 200 patients. In Toruń there are 400-500 homeless, more with every year. Their number is not constant throughout the year and changes depending on e.g. season of the year. There are many more people in need in our city.
