Wall, N.J. - New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, a Fortune 1000 company, is pleased to announce its Holiday Energy Hog Promotion on Facebook. Each Tuesday, from November 8 to December 6, 2016, a photo of the Energy Hog will be posted on Facebook.com/NewJerseyNaturalGas, along with a holiday themed energy-saving tip. For every 'Like' each photo gets on the NJNG Facebook page, NJNG will donate $1, up to $10,000, to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and the Interfaith Food Pantry in Morris County to help fight hunger in our service territory. Participants will learn helpful ways to save on their energy bills this holiday season, while raising money for a good cause.

This holiday season, NJNG and Alliance to Save Energy (ASE) are pleased to partner on this unique approach to promoting energy efficiency and community involvement. NJNG has been a sponsor of the Alliance to Save Energy's (ASE) Energy Hog Program since 2010, helping to bring energy education to both the classroom and public events.

'We're delighted the Energy Hog will be busy this holiday season spreading some cheer and helping people learn more about how they can save energy and money,' said Scott Thach, vice president at the Alliance to Save Energy, a national advocacy group promoting energy efficiency. 'It's hard to think of two more noble causes than fighting hunger and being more efficient with our energy resources, and New Jersey Natural Gas should be commended for their leadership in doing both.'

'Regardless of how you celebrate this season, holiday bills can add up quickly. We are happy to share some great advice to help reduce energy bills through this promotion. Plus it shows the types of the energy-saving tips NJNG shares on social media throughout the year,' added Anne-Marie Peracchio, director of conservation and energy policy at NJNG.

Don't forget to 'Like' NJNG on Facebook and share the weekly Energy Hog posts with family and friends to help give back this holiday season.
