Newpark Resources : Mats and Integrated Services Appoints Alex Rabinovitch to Support Power Transmission Market

Carencro, Louisiana, May 2, 2016 -Newpark Mats and Integrated Services (NMIS), a unit of Newpark Resources, Inc. (NYSE: NR) and industry leader of advanced composite matting solutions, announced the recent appointment of Alex Rabinovitch to North American Business Development Manager, Utilities & Renewables. In his role, Rabinovitch works closely with electric utilities, contractors, and design/EPC firms to enable deployment of transmission worksite solutions, including but not limited to: equipotential zone grounding systems (EPZs), right-of-way access roads, and staging areas to support vegetation clearing, structure foundation construction, line stringing, maintenance, and emergency/storm response initiatives.

Rabinovitch brings more than 20 years of technical business development experience to this role. He leads efforts to drive greater efficiency, project value engineering, safety and environmental protection for utility end-users and their subcontractors. He is responsible for a number of markets and applications that include: HV/EHV power transmission construction and O&M activities, wind and solar power generation construction, substation applications, as well as any utility environmental applications.

Rabinovitch's expertise in utility and contractor projects, combined with Newpark's proprietary DURA-BASE advanced composite mat systems and the new DURA-BASE EPZ Grounding System will enable utilities to work on diverse terrain, from protected wetlands and marshes to sensitive farmland and heavily forested conditions. Newpark's DURA-BASE solutions can also be safely deployed on water to create floating roads and work platforms for vehicles and cranes.

The DURA-BASE EPZ Grounding System consists of DURA-BASE mats fitted with permanently attached metal grounding grids. It offers the benefits of a fully engineered equipotential zone platform, protecting linemen and equipment from electrical hazards such as touch and step voltage differentials, while providing the safest, uniform, expandable and trip-free work platform for overhead line stringing operations.

Before joining NMIS, Rabinovitch was responsible for regional and multi-regional sales for manufacturers of overhead and underground power cable products for T&D applications, including: Superior Essex International, Prysmian Power Cables & Systems, and General Cable Corporation. Rabinovitch holds a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
