NEWSAT JABIRU-1 SATELLITE PROJECT UPDATE NewSat Limited (ASX: NWT), Australia's satellite company, is pleased to provide the following update on the

Jabiru-1 satellite project.

Jabiru-1 satellite financing documents completed

NewSat, the US Ex-Im Bank and COFACE, along with all other parties involved in the financing documentation of the Jabiru-1 satellite, have executed the documents for the US$611 million of funding for the satellite project. The documents include the Common Terms Agreement, Export-Import Bank Facility Agreement,
COFACE Facility Agreement, Reserve Facility Agreement, Inter-creditor Deed and Security Trust Deed. NewSat is now completing the compliance program with respect to the transaction.
Following the execution of the financing documents, yesterday NewSat made a further progress payment of US$45 million to Lockheed Martin. Progress payments to Lockheed Martin for the construction of the Jabiru-1 satellite now total US$72 million.

Satellite construction with Lockheed Martin continues

The Lockheed Martin team in the USA, constructing NewSat's Ka-band satellite, successfully completed the program's Preliminary Design Review (PDR) in June 2012. The completion of the PDR milestone validated that the design met NewSat's key performance requirements. The program now advances into the critical design phase which culminates in the formal Critical Design Review (CDR), expected to be conducted this year. Construction of the satellite remains on target for launch with Arianespace in 2015.

Insurance secured with AON

Insurance to cover all risks, from launch through to one year of operations, has been secured by AON with the world underwriting market. The insurance terms and conditions have met the requirements of both NewSat and the Export Credit Agency lenders.

Ground systems development progressing

The acquisition of land adjacent to the existing Adelaide teleport facility took place in May 2013. The development application for the site is currently being finalised and will be lodged with the local government authorities in the coming weeks. The investment in key infrastructure will support the establishment of the Jabiru satellite control facility and Jabiru customer support centre.
The selection of the vendor for the satellite control system has been completed. In addition, proposals will be sought from industry for ground antennas and related infrastructure required to communicate with the Jabiru-1 satellite.

In commenting on the Jabiru-1 satellite project, Adrian Ballintine, NewSat Founder and CEO said:

"The strategic growth project, Jabiru-1, continues to achieve key milestones towards launch. Executing the financing documents is a major achievement for NewSat, as the Company expands from a reseller of satellite capacity to an owner of satellites. I look forward to updating you further on NewSat's progress, as we secure new customers and reach more milestones as we approach the launch of Jabiru-1. Demand for satellite capacity continues to grow globally, especially across the high growth regions and emerging markets Jabiru-1 covers. Satellite communications is a great long term business to be in."
