NEXTDC launched the first of its NEXTworking Partner Series events in Melbourne and Sydney last week, aimed at bringing the NEXTDC partner community closer together.

The NEXTworking events were held exclusively for the 300-strong partner community and were designed to offer a 'live' ecosystem environment. Industry leaders and guests could network with carriers and service providers, to explore new business opportunities or to extend existing partnerships.

Distinguished guests from leading carriers, integrators and vendors each delivered a five-minute pitch to a room full of current NEXTDC partners and alliances on the topic, cloud services. The event switched to networking mode which then gave members of the NEXTDC Cloud Centre ecosystem, an opportunity to participate in a Q and A session and connect with each other in an informal environment.

Presenters at the NEXTworking events represented a strong cross-section of the channel community including, Cloud Plus Founder and CEO, Jules Rumsey; Somerville GM Cloud Services, Chris Borg; Infinidat ANZ Country Manager, James Byrne; Microsoft Principle Solution Architect, Chris Zhong; AXONVX Systems Project Director, David Hooton and NEXTDC GM Channel Sales, Steve Martin.

Guest presenter, CenturyLink Regional Sales Director, Stuart Mills commented, 'This speed-dating model was a refreshing approach to building new contacts across the partner ecosystem and all my team found the events very valuable. We have had a number of new prospects contact us looking for a partner cloud solution since the event, so would certainly recommend it for next time!'

One partner in attendance also said, 'In an over crowed field of networking events, I thought this was very worthwhile. I hope you can keep them rolling'.

After a successful first series, NEXTDC is already taking expressions of interest from the partner community and other channel businesses for future NEXTworking events to be held around the country.
