Head chef Jacob Jan Boerma, owner of restaurant 'De Leest', rewarded by Michelin with 3 stars, spreads his wings to the Dutch capital with a new concept. At the beginning of 2016, Boerma will open a restaurant in the completely renovated NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. The Michelin chef will also be responsible for the creation of menus for several gastronomic outlets in the hotel, among which the new Grand Café Krasnapolsky, which will open the beginning of 2015.

Jacob Jan Boerma is delighted to open a new restaurant in the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky: "It is a fantastic opportunity to start with NH Hotel Group in Amsterdam, especially in one of the most famous hotels of the city. I look forward to combine the history of the Krasnapolsky and my own style of cooking to present a new, exciting and contemporary culinary temple." Boerma will not close down restaurant De Leest in Vaassen though: "In Vaassen we put the fundaments and it has taken us to where we are today. Without the success of restaurant De Leest this opportunity would not have presented itself. De Leest has been and will remain the nursery for all of the dishes that I will create for the menu in Amsterdam".

NH Collection
NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky will be the first Dutch hotel of NH Hotel Group to join the upper-upscale NH Collection brand, becoming one of the flagship hotels of the chain. According to Maarten Markus, Managing Director of NH Hotel Group Benelux, UK, France, USA & Africa, the cooperation with Boerma fits the NH Collection hotel concept perfectly: "NH Collection has the ambition to offer its guest the best in hospitality, service and innovation, as well as on a culinary level. With Jacob Jan Boerma we can offer our guests the absolute top level of gastronomy. His creations suit the essence of NH Collection: offering an unsurpassed and memorable guest experience, encapsulated in our brand promise 'feel the extraordinary'".

The role of Boerma
The new restaurant in NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky will open its doors in the spring of 2016 and will be able to seat 60 guests. Boerma's signature can also be found in the new Grand Café Krasnapolsky, which opens in the beginning of July 2015 and will seat 120 guests for both lunch and dinner, with an unequalled view on the Dam. Furthermore, Boerma will create a varied and exclusive selection of menus for congresses, meetings and events that take place in the hotel.

With the arrival of Jacob Jan Boerma, NH Hotel Group welcomes its fourth Michelin star Chef to the chain and the second Michelin star Chef in the Netherlands. Other world-known prestigious chefs of the Company are Paco Roncero (2* Michelin Chef at La Terraza del Casino and advisor in DOMO) and Óscar Velasco (2* Michelin Chef at Santceloni) both in Madrid, and Chris Naylor (1*Michelin), Executive Chef of Restaurant Vermeer, at NH Barbizon Palace, led the way in the capital.
