• NH Hotel Group has attained the highest score on the performance dimension of the 2015 edition of the CDP's Climate Change Program, which acknowledges the work done by the world's leading companies to help tackle climate change

• Of all the companies submitting for the 2015 edition, NH Hotel Group is among the select 5% to be included on the Climate A List, which is prepared at the request of 822 investors who represent over one-third of invested global capital

NH Hotel Group has been recognised as a global leader in the 2015 edition of the CDP's Climate Change Program, widely regarding as investors' preferred sustainability rating, thanks to the work it has performed to help stem the tide of climate change, underpinned by its firm commitment to sustainable development.

Each year thousands of companies submit their efforts to reduce emissions and mitigate climate change risk to an independent assessment which is performed by CDP. Of all the firms forming part of this year's edition, thanks to its top score on the performance dimension, NH Hotel Group is among the 5% of companies which will feature in the Climate A List, in recognition of its efforts to reduce emissions and combat climate change. The company has also received a score of 99 in the ranking of disclosure, which evaluates the thoroughness and quality of the information and of the carbon footprint measurement.

To achieve this score, NH Hotel Group answered an extensive technical questionnaire, performed a risk assessment and demonstrated its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. Moreover, the Company supported the quantitative figures provided for audit and evidenced three consecutive years of carbon footprint reduction.

Mónica Chao Janeiro, Director of Environmental Management and Sustainability at NH Hotel Group, said 'here at the Company we are very proud of this place on a ranking which acknowledges our massive commitment to the Environment, as is enshrined in our Business Plan. This distinction will encourage us to continue to work hard to help reduce climate change risks and spearhead the corporate effort to achieve this target'.

The 2015 edition of the CDP's Climate Change Program features 113 companies on its Climate A List, which is compiled at the request of 822 institutional investors who represent over one-third of the world's invested capital.

The Climate A List is published along with the CDP's Annual Report on Climate Change which analyses the world's largest companies' performance during the last five years. The report showcases how companies are changing their strategies in order to become part of the solution to the huge challenge posed by climate change.

About CDP

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an international, not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to provide the largest and most complete environmental information reporting system in the world. CDP works with market forces to motivate companies and cities to measure, disclose and reduce the impact of their actions on the environment and the world's natural resources. CDP holds the largest collection globally of primary climate-change, water and forest-risk information.

This information generates insights which enable investors, management and policy makers to mitigate the risks implied by use of the world's energy and natural resources and identify opportunities for taking a more responsible approach to the environment.

CDP began its activities in 2000 with one very simple idea: to ask the world's largest companies to publicly share information on their greenhouse gas emissions and the measures they take to the mitigate them. The key success factor has been the support of the investor community as the CPD compiles this information on behalf of organisations with assets under their management, such as banks, pension funds, asset managers and insurers.
