Infiniti premieres bespoke Q70L at Auto Shanghai 2015
  • Q70L Bespoke Edition shows concept-car inspired interior
  • Customized cabin features four luxurious quilted leather bucket seats
  • Q80 Inspiration and Q60 Concept make Chinese debut

Hong Kong/Shanghai - The spacious Infiniti Q70L has been specially dressed up with a handcrafted bespoke interior for Auto Shanghai 2015, hinting at how the artistry of Infiniti's concept cars can become reality.

Modeled after the exquisitely detailed interiors of Q80 Inspiration and Q60 Concept - both making their Chinese debut at the show - the cabin of the Q70L Bespoke Edition has been transformed into a cossetting space shaped by meticulous craftsmanship and three-dimensional textures.

Featuring four luxurious bucket seats wrapped in rich white quilted leather, the Q70L Bespoke Edition is an interior design study that bridges the gap between the current interior in production cars and the luscious interiors of concept cars such as the Q80 Inspiration and Q60 Concept.

"We customized the Q70L Bespoke Edition interior to show that the beauty and craftsmanship of concept cars are inherent qualities that can and will continue into production vehicles," said Roland Krueger, Infiniti President and CEO.

Inviting inner sanctum

Since its introduction in China, Q70L has broadened Infiniti's offerings for those who desire enhanced spaciousness and versatility, while appealing to the sporty sedan fan who also requires executive levels of interior room.

Infiniti designers have taken that a step further and enhanced the inside of the Q70L to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all, while paying extra attention to the rear.

The redesign utilized the additional 150 mm in the wheelbase and the increased legroom in the back to its advantage. As a result, the completely revamped rear seats feel deeper, more spacious and more premium than ever.

All four seats envelop occupants with plush cushioned quilting, the softest of Ultrasuede® and high-texture saddle leather for a sumptuous sensory experience.

The tactile quilted leather in the door trim, seats and even the 'cut and sew' headliner all add to the classiness of the tailor-made interior. The leather-wrapped steering wheel, glove compartment, door inserts and armrests are all stitched by hand, reflecting Infiniti's artisan workmanship, with a wooden meter hood perfectly complimenting the craftsmanship.

Refined elegance

The Q70L Bespoke Edition is wearing a special color named Arctic Aluminum, first seen on Q60 Concept, which enhances the premium sedan's flowing and emotional lines. Gleaming like liquid metal and wrapping the body like a metallic skin, the new coating makes the Q70L Bespoke Edition look like it is sculpted from a solid aluminum block instead of painted.

Up front, Infiniti's signature LED headlights frame the substantial double arch grille. The same solid feel is echoed in the front bumper with integrated fog lights, giving the premium sedan a dignified presence on road.

A strong body line rises from the grille, flowing through the body's side like a wave and blending into the shape of the new rear LED combination lights, forming a compelling profile that highlights the sedan's sporty stance.

At the rear, the design of the tail lights creates a horizontal flow in motion while the high-quality lighting signature evokes a fresh and classy image. The top line of the trunk lid has been flattened while the rear bumper has been slimmed down to create a longer and lower visual impression. The chrome rear finisher also adds a touch of class to the entire rear view.

Progressive concepts

Also on display for the first time in China is the elegant Infiniti Q80 Inspiration, which was designed to shake up the status quo among large premium sedans with its convention-defying body styling and daring proportions. At five meters long and two meters wide, the four-door concept is only 52.8 inches (1.3m) at its highest point, further underlining its fastback contours.

Portal-style doors open into a lush interior that pampers the senses. The four individual quilted leather seats give equal importance to driver and passengers, while the plunging panoramic glass roof creates a light, airy environment inside.

Sharing the Infiniti stand, the emotional and accessible Q60 is the precursor to a premium sports coupe. Sporting an angular exterior that underlines the roaring power under the hood, the two-door coupe offers captivating exhilaration in both looks and drive to a new generation of premium customers.

On the outside, the Q60 Concept boasts a road-hugging stance etched out by sharp character creases and deep recesses in the body side. Inside, the high-quality finishes are seen and felt in the smallest detail, from the hand-stitched, leather-wrapped instrument panel and steering wheel to the premium leather and quilted stitching of the seats.

"The Q80 Inspiration and Q60 Concept are a showcase of Infiniti's precise craftsmanship and passion for detail," said Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti Executive Design Director.

"The bespoke Q70L takes its cues from these beautifully executed interiors and previews how the artistry of these concept cars will look and feel like in a car that you can buy."
