Achieving global branding through smiling faces and the Nitto technology and products behind them
As part of global branding efforts, Nitto Denko Corporation (Head Office: Osaka City; President: Hideo Takasaki; hereafter 'Nitto') has created a new promotion movie, 'Behind Smiles', to be released on November 1, 2017.
Since its founding in 1918, Nitto has provided technology and products that contribute to the development of human convenience and industry. Now, in preparation for Nitto's 100th anniversary in 2018 and the Nitto-New Century, the company is considering ways to increase further the value it provides in the fields of Green (environmental), Clean (new energy), and Fine (life sciences), contributing to a healthy and comfortable lifestyle for all people. As an additional step toward strengthening the company's global brand, Nitto also became the title sponsor of the Nitto ATP Finals, the season-ending finale of the Men's Pro Tennis Season, in 2017. This sponsorship carries three major meanings: 'encouraging those who take on challenges', 'pursuit of innovation', and 'formation of a company that can triumph on the global battlefield'. In keeping with this philosophy behind the sponsorship of the Nitto ATP Finals, this new promotion movie is set in the event's host city of London and uses tennis rallies to show how Nitto's products and technology contribute to many scenes in the lives of a wide variety of people. The movie was made on location with production staff based in London and was originally created in English. The Japanese version is a translation of the original.
Along with their previously released promotion movies, Nitto expects the movie to function as an opportunity to further recognition and understanding of the company brand.
True to its brand slogan, 'Innovation for Customers', Nitto will continue to contribute to value creation for customers through new ideas.

Nitto Denko Corporation specializes in the manufacturing and marketing of chemical products used as materials for industrial and electronic components. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- optoelectronic products (53.1%): LCD-related products, conductive films used on touch panels, semiconductor encapsulating materials, printed circuit boards, etc.;
- industrial tapes (38.4%): adhesives tapes for electronic components and hard disc drives, surface protective materials, tapes for hygienic use, etc.;
- medical and environmental materials (5.6%): transdermal drug delivery patches and seawater desalination membranes;
