The STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index was established by STOXX Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Börse Group. The global index for socially responsible investment (SRI) represents companies that meet strict environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria.

This year, a total of 345 companies (including 28 from Japan) were selected among 1,800 of the world's largest companies. Nomura is the only financial services company that has been selected from Japan.

Nomura's commitment to ESG initiatives, along with its engagement in diversity and inclusion, business ethics and responsible investment, all have been highly rated.

Nomura is also a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices - DJSI World Index and DJSI Asia Pacific Index, the FTSE4Good Index and the Morningstar Socially Responsible Investment Index, Morningstar, Inc. Further, Nomura has been selected as the only Japanese financial services company in the Channel NewsAsia Sustainability Ranking 2016.
