NORDEA BANK Nordea will be busy matchmaking, networking and searching for opportunities to create new partnerships during Investor Day at Slush Helsinki, Europe´s leading start-up and technology event.
We are the only bank participating as a partner for Investor Day, which will take place on 29 November, the day before Slush Helsinki kicks off. Investor Day, a complementary event to Slush, targets private equity investors and is open to Slush attendees with an Investor Pass.
Investor Day brings together all key players from the investment scene under one roof to form new connections and discuss the next big thing within the technology industry. The event will focus on hands-on discussions, meetings and casual networking. Hosted by industry experts, the roundtable discussions at Investor Day present a perfect opportunity for sharing experiences and gaining new insight from other investors.
Nordea is also one of the main partners for Slush Helsinki and our Startup & Growth unit will be represented at the event and Nordea's booth. The Startup & Growth unit was launched last year to be able to focus more on start-up and growth companies and their needs as well as to cooperate with private equity investors and accelerators.
'Many of Nordea's large corporate customers have asked the Nordea Startup & Growth team to search for potential acquisitions from among the start-up and growth companies that suit their growth or innovation needs,' says Vesa Riihimäki, head of Nordea's Startup & Growth in Finland.
'This cooperation model makes the deal sourcing more efficient for investors. If necessary, we can tackle the target company's shortfall in capital through our alternative financing services. Venture funding, SME bonds and crowdfunding, which is about to be reintroduced, are all alternative ways to find investor partners,' says Deal Flow Manager Pia Erkinheimo at Nordea.
Our Startup & Growth unit has just concluded a partnership agreement with Nordic Business Angel Network (NordicBAN), a network of start-up investor networks in the Nordics and Baltics. NordicBAN supports the networking of active business angels and large cross-border angel investments.
