Northeast Utilities to Discuss Second Quarter Results

HARTFORD, Conn. and BOSTON, Mass. (July 21, 2014) - Northeast Utilities (NYSE: NU) will
webcast a conference call with financial analysts on Friday, August 1, 2014, beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern
Daylight Time, in which senior management will discuss the company's financial performance through
the second quarter of 2014.

The discussion will be led by Jim Judge, executive vice president and chief financial officer, and will include
Lee Olivier, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
