Northern Trust, a leading provider of financial services for affluent individuals, families and institutions, announced today the strengthening of its Oil, Gas & Minerals practice with the appointment of Leslie Tipping to the role of Oil, Gas and Mineral Management Advisor. In this role, Tipping is responsible for developing new oil and gas management relationships, as well as managing oil, gas and minerals held in trusts, estates and advisory accounts across all major oil and gas geographic regions as well as new and emerging geologic areas.

Northern Trust’s Oil, Gas & Minerals practice offers comprehensive mineral asset management and advisory services, including asset management, property valuation, lease negotiation, property sales, contract review and protection of mineral owner interests to maximize revenue opportunities. Northern Trust has expertise in managing these non-financial assets for a wide variety of clients, including individuals, family partnerships, trusts, foundations, limited liability companies and non-profits through a team of investment advisors, Certified Professional Landmen, attorneys and registered professional engineers.

Prior to joining Northern Trust, Tipping worked at JPMorgan Chase Bank as Regional Director of Mineral Management. Previously, she worked in probate and estate planning for several years in Houston and Dallas providing complete land services to large oil and gas companies such as Chief Oil & Gas, Devon Energy and XTO Energy. In 2004, Tipping became the Managing Crew Chief of Landmen focusing on oil and gas activity in Texas and Oklahoma. She has extensive experience in abstracting, title curative, due diligence, leasing and obtaining other oil and gas agreements.

Tipping earned her bachelor’s degree at Texas Tech University and attended South Texas College of Law. She is an active member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), Dallas Association of Petroleum Landmen and the Fort Worth Association of Professional Landmen.
