Butte, Mont. - December 7, 2017 - Crews will begin initial work on a utility line relocation project on a portion of Russell Street in Missoula that will require a lane shift on the thoroughfare.

The southbound lane of Russell Street will be shifted into the northbound turn lane from Broadway to the north end of the bridge, beginning at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017. The partial closure will continue until about 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017.

The partial closure will allow crews to safely work near a natural-gas line. The work is part of a larger project that will allow utility infrastructure to be relocated in the busy Russell Street corridor.

NorthWestern Energy apologizes for the inconvenience of the temporary lane shift and greatly appreciates the understanding of Missoula-area motorists.
