NSK to Exhibit at Automotive Engineering Exposition 2015
A Wide Variety of Products and Technologies for Greener and Safer Automobiles

NSK Ltd. (NSK; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO: Norio Otsuka) will exhibit its products and technologies at Automotive Engineering Exposition 2015, to be held at Exhibition Hall, Pacifico Yokohama, Japan (Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture) from Wednesday, May 20 to Friday, May 22, 2015.

Exhibit Products Functional Safety Compliant EPS (Electric Power Steering)NSK will unveil the world's first EPS that is completely compliant with ISO 26262, the functional safety standard for automobiles.
This product has enhanced diagnostics for its sensors and ICs in order meet the higher safety levels that have been required in recent years while providing high-precision steering support. Low Torque Tappet Roller for Diesel EnginesThe roller rocker arm used in the air intake and exhaust systems of diesel engines is normally used in harsher environments than those of gasoline engines. For this reason, sliding bearings are typically used for such applications. NSK's newly developed low-torque tappet roller has chrome plating on its shaft to increase durability, making it possible to use roller bearings that have less friction, thereby helping to improve fuel efficiency.Low Drag Friction Plate Nν (nu) Multi-segmentWet clutches used in automatic transmissions typically use a friction plate that is covered in friction material. When the clutch is idle, drag can occur due to shearing in the lubrication coat, which reduces the efficiency of the transmission. NSK's product uses friction material with an original shape that promotes air intake into the gap of the clutch and the fracturing of the oil film. In this way, NSK is able to greatly reduce drag compared to conventional friction plates, thereby helping to improve fuel efficiency.
In addition, NSK will exhibit state-of-the-art technologies designed for EVs (electric vehicles) and bearing products that are compact, light and feature low friction loss, thus providing fuel efficiency improvements to help make automobiles greener. NSK engineers will be present at the NSK booth to make presentations of these products and technologies that help make automobiles greener and safer. Overview of Exhibition
