Odfjell Drilling has received its first call-off contract under a drilling and wells alliance agreed with Aker BP late last year.
This is a 12-month contract for the semisubmersible Deepsea Stavanger, which will start as soon as the rig returns to Norway after completing another job for Total in South Africa, which is expected to be in 2Q 2019.
Value of the contract is around $105 million excluding potential performance bonuses.
Statoil has also exercised the first of four options for a contract for the Odfjell semisub Deepsea Bergen.
This covers two firm wells with an estimated duration of 75 days. The contract is set to start in 1Q or 2Q 2018, in direct continuation of another drilling program offshore Norway for OMV.
