OKLAHOMA CITY-OG&E today announced Alba Weaver has been named manager of economic development. Weaver will oversee the planning and direction of activities to improve the economy throughout OG&E's service area. She is also responsible for partnering with the states of Oklahoma and Arkansas in promoting them and encouraging local and international businesses to locate or expand operations in the states.

Weaver has been with OG&E for 10 years serving as project manager for economic development. She previously served as the director of economic/community development for the City of Guthrie, as the Chief Administrator for the Greater Oklahoma City Port Authority's Foreign Trade Zone no. 106, and as president and CEO of the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce.

'Alba has been instrumental in developing customer needs analyses and in negotiating with companies to locate in Oklahoma, which strengthens our communities,' said Paul Renfrow, OGE Energy Corp. Vice President of Public Affairs and Corporate Administration. 'She brings more than 25 years of comprehensive experience in economic development positions with increasing responsibility, and she will continue to represent OG&E very well.'

Weaver holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma and is currently pursuing the completion of a master's degree in public administration with a concentration in public policy. Her professional memberships include currently serving on the boards for the Oklahoma Economic Development Professionals Council, the Governor's Economic Development and Marketing Team, the Oklahoma Academy for State Goals and the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area Development Corporation. She's also engaged with the Oklahoma Foreign Direct Investment Strategic Team, the Utility Economic Development Association, the International Economic Development Council, and numerous other non-profit and civic organizations.
